You know you're in a small town when... the local air ambulance paramedic calls you up to see if you want to ride along!

"Of course!!" I said.

So, had breakfast and watched the World Cup with the family in Lac La Biche, lunch at Moxie's in Edmonton with the paramedics, then back in La Biche for an afternoon at the lake. Nice day!
